Davis House Child Advocacy Center
Davis House serves children & their families dealing with sexual or significant physical abuse in Hickman, Lewis, Perry and Williamson Counties.
Description
Davis House Child Advocacy Center opened in September 2000 to provide a safe, child-friendly place for children to tell their story and receive healing services.
Davis House served 530 children from our four-county service area in FY20. The mission of Davis House is to provide investigative, advocacy, family support, and therapeutic services to children who have experienced sexual or significant physical abuse or some other traumatic event, as well as trauma informed community education, designed to guide our towns and civic spaces to be safer and more resilient for everyone. Child abuse does not just affect the child.
Once disclosure is made, the entire family is in crisis. Our dual goal: to treat the child and the family as they heal from the trauma of abuse; and to educate caregivers and our collaborative partners in order to better protect children.
